Sunlit walls of a narrow rock canyon under a blue sky

Paradise Valley

Palm trees, rock pools and fresh water in the Atlas foothills.

A day away from the ocean

About an hour's drive from Taghazout, Paradise Valley is a green gorge hidden in the foothills of the Atlas mountains.

The road winds up through the mountains, then you walk down to natural pools of clear water, surrounded by palm trees and warm rocks to lie on.

Swim, jump from the rocks if you feel brave, and enjoy a slow day after a week of surfing.

What you'll do

Swim in natural pools

Cool, clear mountain water in rock pools, a nice change from the salty Atlantic.

Walk the palm gorge

An easy walk through the valley between palm trees and big rock walls.

Jump from the rocks

Only if you want to. There are spots for small jumps and for the brave.

Good to know

Water levels change with the season. Ask Ismail how the pools look this week before you book.

What to bring

  • Swimwear and a towel
  • Shoes you can walk on rocks with
